Bidra med feedbackI have been to Davie Village before and wanted to try something new. I could smell this restaurant and knew I would want to try it out. I walked up and down the neighborhood and came back to Banana Leaf. The special was ribs and spinach and I considered ordering that but a lady (not my waitress) came by and offered to help me choose. She recommended the Mee Goreng or Nasi Goreng for a first timer. I had the Mee Goreng (noodles) and it was very tasty and a really big portion. it had all the proteins (beef, chicken, tofu and shrimp) and a hearty sauce. I was sorry that I didn't have room to fit a dessert as they looked very tempting. Also, I had the lemongrass ginger tea and it was very refreshing. I think this is a place that would be better with a small group or couple so you could order several dishes and share. Most of the tables were groups and I could tell that they were regulars.
Famous malaysian chain it is. Had our dinner. Gives good amount in dish. So plz order wisely. I liked there nasi gorang a lot and didnt like pineapple rice. price wise it is a restaurant.
I love Malaysian food and was excited to see this restaurant. The drinks cocktail (The Empress one), tea (lemongrass ginger tea) and the teh tarik were excellent. I enjoyed the eggplant fries. The roti was OK, but could have been flakier and I didn't care for the coconut curry sauce. I had the spare ribs. They were tender and has a slight sweetness to them. The coconut rice could have had more coconut flavour for my liking. I was going to go for the beef rendang, but tried something different. I will stick with my rendang. The portion sizes are huge. The service was friendly and attentive. I appreciate that they still wear masks and take cleaning seriously. The decor is simple and clean. Service 4.5/5 Drinks 5/5 Food 3/5 Decor/Ambiance 3/5
We arrived a little past lunch, but they still allowed us to order lunch specials. The food was tasty and excellent. Really a gem in Davie St.
The staff here were lovely and service was attentive and friendly. However we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The roti was undercooked and I had to pick out the raw bits from the middle. Our main courses were certainly plentiful but they were dry and showed no evidence of the lovely sauces depicted on the website photos. Won’t be returning.
