Bidra med feedbackCompliments to a fantastic server, Frankie! He was friendly, funny, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made our experience all the more memorable. Grazie, Frankie! Food was great, although one recommendation for the owner and chef Calamari sauce should be on the side as a dipping sauce. The calamari became soggy rather quickly.
Disappointed, went with high expectations, have been wanting to try this restaurant for a very long time. We planned on getting dinner however after a half an hour we only just had gotten our drinks and then we ordered the butternut squash soup which took 20 more minutes to arrive. It was good, After an hour we decided just to pass on dinner and pay the check. Not what I was expecting. Not sure how it was in the past, the one side was brightly lit not very romantic that I had envisioned.
We had a lovely experience and I'm glad we were able to dine here before the announced restaurant closing. The service was, understandably, a bit slow the restaurant was completely booked for its final weekend. Much of the menu was a bit overpriced, and the restaurant felt slightly more cozy and casual than fine dining, but we enjoyed everything we ordered and we would have happily returned for another evening out. My favorite menu items were the Warm Brussel Salad and the Chocolate Creme Brûlée. Hopefully, new ownership can one day revive this pleasant dining spot.
Got there as soon as they opened so we knew we would get a bar seat. I really the surrounding inside lots of glass and mirrors. The food top notch! Our favorite dinner in York!
This is my fourth visit to The Left Bank. Tonight we both had the filet and golden fried potatoes. I started with an espresso martini and curryed squash soup with lump crab meat, both were sensational. The service is always spot on and I have never had a disappointing meal here. It is probably one of the best places in York! In the summer they close off the street for dining. I would highly recommend The Left Bank!!! ... Add on we had dessert that did not make it long enough for a picture... Apple Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream!!! Yum!!!
