Cafe La Bolsa - Valencia

The attitude to foreign visitors was absolutely the worst we have experienced in almost two weeks in Spain. We live in London which welcomes visitors from around the world and we try and help when we can. Food ok not good but the attitude and approach of the staff made us feel most unwelcome, it was in fact hostile and the food plates were, thrown on the table. It is only now that I understand this phrase!

We were staying at the Hotel Alkazar which is about 50 yards from this restaurant so we had noticed the menu and thought what good value. We had the nicest 3 courses plus drink for 10 euros each starting with Smoked Salmon salad and then loin of pork and sweet. Delicious. But only at lunchtime.

During the height of Las Fallas, we stumbled upon this older style tapas bar. It is not at all fancy, but it was relaxing and quiet. We were able to hang out there for a couple of hours. The food was good, but we were most impressed by the waitstaff. They were patient and taught us a few things about their selections! The place was very clean and the price was reasonable. O, we loved their sepia a la plancha!
