The Smoke Shack Bbq - Valdez

Best BBQ I've had in Alaska and best pecan pie I've had in my life ! They gave our kiddos free mac and cheese meals. Cool and friendly owner too. Do yourself a favor and try their food.

As a Texan, I never turn down the opportunity at BBQ. It's particularly hard to come by in Alaska, so when I came across the Smoke Shack I gave it a try. I ordered the Little Bubba special which included a 1/2 lb of pulled pork, a side (I went with the beans), and a corn bread muffin. The portion was ample and price was excellent! The pulled pork was moist and paired well with the sauce. The beans and muffin were also yummy! All that and fast, friendly service...what's not to love!

DELICIOUS! Not on the main strip but so worth a try! We got the Big Bubba platter to try everything. My favorite was the pulled pork, chicken and rub on the ribs. But eveything was good! We 'll be back.

Amazing BBQ from an old trucker. This place is great. I've had Carolina BBQ and this place is on par with the best of them. We had the Big Bubba (this time) with extra pulled pork and chicken. Normally it also includes brisket and ribs which are also delicious. We actually bought the rub he uses to add on some caribou I got this year because it's so good.

I'm from Texas so I was super excited to see a BBQ place in Valdez. Certainly didn't disappoint...I has the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious...as a bonus the owner sat and talked with us and gave us great tips of things to do in the area. Everyone should check this place out!!
