Sun City Cafe - Valbonne

Sun City used to be a regular haunt for lunch and the occasional Thursday night. Change of owner and it just ain't the same. Thursday night opens at 18:00 but they wouldn't serve a drink before 18:45! Food order not taken until after 19:00 and then a wait for almost an hour for food to be served. Simple burgers which came raw.... Shame, I used to like this place.

Menu here is good value but they 've maybe lost sight of the fact there 's a recession on the go. Whilst the food is tasty its nothing spectacular and 13.50 for burger and a few chips with meagre salad is pushing it slightly. The house wine is best avoided. As you can see from the photo the pitcher was full of icky residue. When we complained, were informed it was 'normal ' and this was sugar. Not normal in any other bottle of rosé I 've ever drunk.

Great atmosphere. Fantastic French band singing 80s American rock and roll.

You get exactly what you expect here. Great, tastey burgers, good service and average prices for lunch in this area.
