Le Peuplier de la Bourse - Val-de-Vesle

This place has a nice ambience when you can sit on the terrace and service was good. The hostess was friendly and took pride in informing us that the vegetables were "of the house". Sadly though, they were the worst cooked vegetables I have ever encountered in France, where you don;t really expect green beans to be boiled to death. The accompanying chicken drumsticks were fine but not particularly tasty. The others had cheeseburgers but again, they were nothing special. The best part of the meal was the starter which was a salsa of tomatoes topped with smoked salmon. All in all, it was a somewhat disappointing start to our highly anticipated culinary adventures in France.
