Bowld - Vail

Update: we saw their fb post about needing customers to stay in business so we thought to give them another shot. This time I went in with my husband instead of waiting in the car. It took forever to get our food and it was terrible we thru out 35 in food. Also the place is disgusting they need to clean the walls and floor with a power washer. It's not even a little dirty either. The owner was cooking how does the condition of your business not bother you? They need to close their doors so a new business can take over that spot.

The partner-in-dine and I are so happy that we have Bowld nearby. Most of the dining options in our corner of Tucson consist of fastfood and more fastfood. We go to Bowld about twice a month. Everything that we 've had there has been consistently excellent and delicious. The food is made fresh in their open kitchen. Servings are generous and the quality is topnotch. Aside from their regular menu of rowls, bowls, burgers and salads, they also offer a bowl of the week and a burger of the week . Our favorite bowl is the Green Chile Enchilada Bowl. We 've tried a few other bowls and they 're all pretty good. But the Green Chile Enchilada Bowl is the créme de la créme of bowls. We also recommend trying the rowls. The Cubano and Diablo rowls are delicious. The partner-in-dine had the double burger (which came with a mountain of French fries) the last time we were there and he gave it his burp of approval. The owner who is also the main cook is always nice and cordial. We can actually see the dedication, hard work and sincerity he pours into his business. We try to support local businesses whenever we can, and Bowld is one of those that truly deserves recognition and praise.

Food is delicious. The staff was super friendly and worked with me to make sure my meal was totally vegan. The cashier approached me on three different occasions to ask follow up questions like asking if the rice made with chicken stock was okay with me. I appreciated her level of helpfulness and candor. I enjoy supporting indie restaurants and this was just a reminder at how great they can be. The menu is creative. I got the 520 Bowl with several modifications and I have no complaints!!

Food is inconsistent. I've been here and gotten great and tasty food and at other times rice is hard and undercooked. While there, I saw that they reheat rice on grill from a big pot which I'm not mad at but if you reheat rice, you have to make sure it's hot and soft. Mine was room temp if that and hard, like undercooked. Got the burger once and it was delicious! Gave 3 starts bc you never know what you're going to get.

In the area and looking for a lunch spot. Not many choices. Found Bowld to be a dirty little nondescript strip mall eatery. Green chili bowl was alright, but generally underwhelming after reading other comments. Service was good and cheery. First and last trip here for me.
