Best Western Plus Västerviks Stadshotell

Really nice hotel, do not use the garage only parking 200 m next to the hotel parking lot it is much cheaper there. the jacuzzi could be a little warmer, after a long day in nature I was curious about a hot jacuzzi I was a little disappointed by the cold, so I took a hot shower instead of even the sauna was a little too cold in my opinion. the rooms are really clean, they change their towels every day when they wish, I know it is really bad for the environment, but sometimes it is necessary. I know that they can't open the windows here, I just want to say that some people are disappointed, worried because they can't get fresh air into the room. And for the breakfast they have to be really early because it ends at 10, so they are not so hungry so they can't eat so much. Usually the breakfast is included in the price, and they have a really nice buffet, they even have pancakes! so overall it was really nice day in västervik.

Moreover, the mini-fridge was inaccessible. This wouldn't have been a major issue if we could have chilled water, but in our room, the water just wouldn’t get cold. Thankfully, there was an ice machine nearby, which we frequented throughout our stay. Lukewarm water isn’t ideal on a hot summer day. There were some small oversights I wished they had addressed. Our room was missing a bath plug, which we reported, and while we received another one, we later found the original one under the tub. Properly checking the room before our arrival could have easily avoided this. Also, the trash bins were never fitted with bags, which meant we had to deal with the leftover waste ourselves. This minor issue seemed to indicate that the cleaning staff might have been a bit rushed, as they also left some items under the bed that we hadn’t noticed until later. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, although those with dietary restrictions should be aware that nothing was clearly labeled. While some guests might not notice, terms like "smoothie" may not provide enough information for many. The staff was helpful when we could get their attention, but they always seemed rushed, making it hard to ask for assistance. This was likely not their fault, as they seemed to be quite overwhelmed. On a brighter note, the location was fantastic, and the area was lovely. We were on the third floor, and our room had large windows that we kept open most of the time. From one side, we could see the sea, while on the other, it was just behind a building. It truly was a great location in a wonderful city!

It's unfortunate when a hotel room lacks a minibar, and the absence of slippers is also disappointing. This is why I've given my rating of only 3 stars.
