Muffin - Hotel Express Towers

Have tried the cakes of this bakery at the stores where the cakes of this place are available. Finally, got to eat from the bakery at hotel express towers on a celebration. Some of my family members got a red velvet cake from here. I liked the cake, but it was not the best cake in Vadodara. I would buy a cake from here only when I am out of options! I can not comment on the service so this review is based only on the taste and quality of cake. Ruturaj Puranik

Tried the blueberry pastries and a muffin. They were both pretty good. The place is nicely accommodated in one corner of the express tower entrance lobby. The variety they had was not too much but I still liked the collection. Specially the cakes, they had pretty amazing and customized kick ass looking cakes. This was one of the very few places where one could order customized cakes, about 20 years ago. Anyone who grew up in the city in late 80s early 90s knows the awesomeness of Muffins. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated since (or maybe we have better options now). I tried their desserts after a very long time and realized that their cakes are absolutely dry and crusty. We tried around 6 cakes and were disappointed to learn that all of them had the same problem. The jelly layer on their lemon cake, to my horror, peeled off like fondant and was pretty chewy. The choco truffle crust was so hard that it almost broke the plastic spoon. Adding to that, they all tasted the same....cardboard-y. Heaven only knows how old these cakes must've been! I would visit this place next time only if I get sentimental.....or if it's the last standing cake shop in the city!

I had ordered a cake for my sister's birthday ,amazing cake was delivered to me :) The chocolate Truffle cake was very fresh and well customised. Thanks for the amazing cake!
