Bidra med feedbackWe are lunch here 2 years ago, and still treasure the memory, and 'discovered ' it again this visit for petit dejuner. Tucked into a street off the main square, the decor is super cool, the service is so friendly, and food, drinks, coffee, perfect....The thing that shines out is the owners passion to give people a taste of Provence, and welcome. It 's like eating on the patio of your favourite Aunt. This time I had quite a conversation (in my poor French) with the waitress about our first chance experience here, the establishment, and the owner tres chic. That time we has a salad fraiche, with tapenade and melon with crisp rose. At our latest visit, breakfast with croissant, home made preserve, fresh coffee, fresh orange juice. Simple, but effective. It is not open every day, and when closed you will miss it. But hunt it out, you will not be disappointed.
Very good food for the price. Owner was attentive and very gracious with our limited French. Only issue for this North American was the toilet very clean but need a throne.
A week ago I was sitting at this Cafe enjoying a coffee and an exquisite canele (cake, speciality from Bordeaux) while a wonderful lady sang entrancingly : Puccini amongst others. She filled the square with her powerful vocal chords. Could have been a professional but...I am guessing she never had the chance. I will always make a point to come to Chez Cerise as they have so many wonderful cakes. A terrific place to while away an hour or so.
This small cafe, tucked away just off the main market square in the medieval center of Uzes, is a great place to retreat from the winter cold after a hard morning shopping for local delicacies. With a shabby chic decor and an amazing selection of...mismatched china, the cafe has a charm lacking in many of the more modern eateries in Uzes. The lady who runs it is charming and the patisserie, a daily changing assortment of home made tarts and cakes, are wonderful. Particularly good in winter is the rich moist chestnut cake. For most of the year there are tables outside for great people watching on market days.
There is no shortage of tea shops in the old city of Uzes. This one is particularly nice. There is the outside space on the square but also a very nice and comfortable interior. Madame is lovely.
