Bidra med feedbackWe stayed at La Capilla Lodge for about three weeks, had meal at the in-house restaurant every day and never got tired or bored. Vast variety of freshly cooked tasty dishes, accommodating many dietary requirements or if possible even personal preferences. Thanks for my corn, Chris! :) Olives starter was also fantastic! Succulent chicken is also hard to forget. The complications of cooking in the altitude and get the great result – very impressive! We were even treated to a Peruvian national dish – guinea pig! Very yummy! Difficult dish to get right but this was superb! We heard that Chris is working on a new menu, this makes us want to come back (among the other Peru attractions) and try new dishes.
Peruvian food is amazing, by far the best in the Americas. However, after a few days in Peru, it is a real pleasure to visit a place like La Capilla, where aside from one of the best 'Lomo Saltados' in Peru, you can enjoy truly sophisticated and delicious french-inspired dishes with wonderful regional touches. The service exceeds the great service you usually enjoy in Peru. The owners, Cristoff and Romina, French and English Peruvian respectively, are there taking care if every detail, as entrepeneurs but also as proud locals (Romina is Cusco-born), not just managing a fantastic bed-and-breakfast and a first-class restaurant, but also being closely involved with the needs of their neighbors and inhabitants of the Sacred Valley. If you are in Urubamba or its vicinity, please follow my advice and visit La Capilla for lunch or dinner, I swear, you'll thank me for my advice.
