Caffe Basili - URBINO

Feeling peckish we called here for a light lunch and opted for the Prosciutto e Melone which was absolutely delicious. The melon chilled, flavourful and juicy, the thinly sliced prosciutto light and tasty. The whole meal was very reasonably priced, particularly in the centre of a busy tourist area, and a lot cheaper and better quality that we had previously experienced during our visit to Italy. The service was excellent, staff brilliant and we can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Our first morning in Urbino and went to this caffe for breakfast. Great selection of pastries and savoury foods. Coffee was excellent and the service very friendly.

We sheltered in this cafe from the terrible rain and cold recently and couldn't have been happier. We ordered two glasses of wine and were pleasantly surprised when the wine arrived with a generous plate of snacks. In fact it was almost a meal on its own. We went back the following morning for an expresso and enjoyed the excellent coffee and croissant standing at the bar with the locals. The cafe is ideally placed in the main piazza, just a hop skip and jump from the Ducale Palazzo. It is spacious, lively and always full. Mostly with young local students from the town. An ideal watering hole.

It is the most historical caffe of the city but it is expensive and the staff could be more helpful and polite È il più centrale caffè della città però è caro e il personale potrebbe essere più gentile!

The set of films years comes to mind when observing the written coffee and the building, pleasant to see. for the rest we are in the norm of an exercise located in the center in one of the most touristic cities of the brands
