I'm not for hyperboles, but I just had one of the most difficult experiences on Safeway in Union City. It was the entire experience that frustrated me and unwilling to return to any safeway location. The topics started in the Deli department. After leaving the Deli department, I asked to talk to a manager about what happened. The manager, much to my surprise and disappointment, said to me, I know what you describe. This employee repeats the same behavior. I'm not sure if he tried to be sensitive (but inconspicuous), but I thought of myself, How can this be a known behavior and no corrective measures be taken?! I'm not asking for the termination. If the manager had said that we are aware of this behavior and we work with this employee to improve his customer service, then great! I would have stayed happy. I am hopeful that, although I have abandoned purchasing at your location, you can take the loss of my company as an opportunity to prevent other customers from having similar experiences. I've been shopping at this place for years, but if this is how bad customer service gets address, I'm lucky to have other options for food. Just one episode. The above feedback was left with Safeway. I was told that a call is made with me to get more insight. Nothing. No message No message I can see that they monitor their Yelp reviews and leave answers, but the answers seem to be an attempt to mitigate overthrow of negative reviews, oriented to READERS of review, instead of trying to fix the issues of concern to the original poster of review.
I went the other day and Jeannie was the cashier. She was the best/funniest worker I ever met in this store. The register had so many malfunctions and instead of getting angry or having a crazy attitude, she joked and made us laugh. She was great to make our day better.
Mostly I and my friend shop are in our safeway in Newark. I never had a problem and love the deals. Today we were in the union town and decided to make our shopping here. We ended at 11:20 such sad self-control was closed. Once we got to the article holder table, the cashier named Lorna said, put your articles on the table! I and my friend have fucked a little because that's an obvious statement right? We had a lot of things. Then she says: Do you need a bag or what? Another obvious answer. So while we put our articles on the table, she repeats that she says to put our articles on the table while I do. So we slow things down as we are in a budget. And she's starting to murmur things to herself, as far as we're concerned. I would understand if it was almost time, but Safeway closes at 1:00! Their attitude was completely unacceptable and therefore we will always check in ourselves. It's gonna try never again, thanks to the cashier Lorna.
This is a well-maintained, older store located in a large shopping center. The entrance is lined with big palm trees, and there is a new coffee shop and phone repair store nearby. The interior of the store may not be visually appealing, but it is well-stocked and clean. The self-checkout options help avoid long lines at the register, especially during late evening visits. I purchased some bakery items and discounted canned soup, which was overstocked. It's always good to have extra supplies during uncertain times. I also found some bubbly water, a unique item not commonly found in other stores. The store's security is top-notch, ensuring a safe shopping experience. Overall, I believe this is a well-managed establishment.
