Bidra med feedbackI am always looking forward to eating at Ex Provinciali during the participation in The Far East Film Festival in Udine. The food is excellent and made from fresh local products. This year we had an amazing antipasti, first a beautiful vegetable soup and then some great local vegetables. I also had some wonderful homemade spaghettoni with the mushroom Morchelle (more) one evening, and another spaghettoni with fresh asparagus in an orange sauce. The menu changes with what is in the season (if fromgole is in the season, try her bygole dish, the best I have ever eaten), and all I have eaten here was excellent. The cook is a master! And all who work here are so friendly and give the place a unique, welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to my meals at Ex Provinciali next year.
This place came as a surprise, a very positive surprise. We stumbled on our tour through Udine. Obviously this Osteria is operated by a family. We had no reservation, but the owners arranged a nice table for us. As a starter we had a record with local prosecutors, Salami and Lardo along with perfectly made antipasti. Accompanied by a bottle of Merlot. For the main course we had made fresh pasta, one with porcini and one with beef (a kind of local Bolognese style). The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauces were delicious. Nothing perfect. Finally, the owner invited us for Grappa. In view of the high quality of food and beverages, the bill felt quite tiny. That was another positive surprise. If you are in Udine, you should pay a visit to this Osteria.
Our group of 4 had a “bellisma” experience for lunch. The cook served us a mixture of grilled, marinated and plastered vegetables, along with a fresh cold vegetable soup, similar to Gazpacho. The vegetables grown locally around the city were sprinkled with taste. We also had salami and delicious mountain cheese. We almost filled up on this course alone. But that would have been a shame, because next we were served with basil, mint, oregano, dill, dandelion and much more a local Cheesy Herb Risotto. For dessert we had apricots and watermelons Sorpto, which was served in a glass with liqueur. Everything was with the beautiful house wine. The whole meal was simply the recommendation of the cook, not really on the menu, and simply delicious. Also the value was incredible, at about €20 pp. I saved a note to come back at any time when I'm close. What a wonderful lunch!
Amazing food, fresh herbs and vegetables, delicious risotto, completely personalized service, house wine was to die!
Come here for a really delicious and authentic lunch.
