Bidra med feedbackA nice restaurant near the ship we were staying on. The food was reasonably priced and certainly fair for the quality. The fish soup €15) was loaded with salmon, with some in nearly every bite, and a really nice meal on this rainy day. The quinoa with pumpkin €23) was nothing like we anticipated and all for the better. The quinoa was seasoned and prepared in a way that reminded me of falafel. Add to that the roasted vegetables and excellent sauce and this beautiful dish was exceptional.
In the covid-off-season-darkness, Göran was very quiet, and the lunch did not improve our morale. I chose the archipelago brunch, but the selection was very narrow, and unfortunately also partly dry. Tough challenge, with all the covid regulations. Service was OK (for Finland, not internationally), but could be far more outcoming and active. The environment is unique. With creativity, the options would be vast.

This restaurant is located at the Forum Marinum museum. The Daphne sailboat, once owned by the author Göran Schildt, is placed in the restaurant. We had just drinks before continuing to the nearby Turku Castle.
The Göran restaurant is a mixture of a lunch and dinner restaurant and a simultaneous cafeteria. The menu is very limited and of course the expectation is that what is served is really good. The starters consisted of the archipelago buffet, i.e. quite a limited choice of fish and other seafood starters. The previous experience from the weekday lunch buffet, pre-corona, was much much better. The main dish we ordered was pikeperch. It was nearly overcooked, soft and sloppy, and the vegetable bed did not raise any taste above the other. The dessert table was good with more choice; the cheeses were tired and dry. The service was minimized. The cafeteria cashier served when there were no people buying coffees. Probably consequences of the corona down-sizing, but still...
