I ordered salt and pepper squid, soup, and chili oil at this restaurant. The food wasn't bad, but the chili oil I added to my soup tasted horrible. It seemed like they made it with old and bad-quality oil. The smell was terrible, but I still ate it. When I brought it to their attention, they were not apologetic. The man insisted that it was chili oil he made himself and kept in an open jug on the side. Now, my stomach feels upset and I feel unwell. The woman was rude and only refunded me £1, saying that was all they could do. I am going to report this to the environmental health department. This experience was truly terrible and I feel compelled to share my negative experience.
This is our usual takeaway but the food wasn't as good as usual this time. Spring rolls had no filling and the bean curd was hard and unpalatable.
My family, as well as my partner and I, have been loyal customers of Mister Chef for years. However, after a recent experience, I will never patronize them again. I ordered three dishes, all of which were served at inconsistent temperatures, raising serious food hygiene concerns. The chicken satay was served in warm sauce, but upon biting into it, I found it to be warm on the outside and cold inside. The crispy beef noodles had a similar issue, with one bite being warm and the next cold. When I called to request a refund, the lady on the phone provided zero customer service, accused me of lying, and refused to acknowledge any fault. She even answered two other calls while I was speaking to her. The manager was sent to my house to assess the situation, and he also called me a liar, claiming that I was the only customer out of 100 who had complained that day. Despite my attempts to calmly explain the situation, he was extremely rude and eventually shoved the refund into my hand, telling me never to order from them again. My partner now feels unwell after eating the food and may be sick, while I fortunately only took one bite before realizing it was not up to standard. The entire ordeal has left me feeling upset and uneasy, and I have no intention of ordering from this company again. I believe the local council should investigate their practices, as I do not believe they maintain high standards and are putting people's health at risk.
Very disappointed. Have been loyal customers for years. Slowly seen a decline in value and service. Placed an order this evening , really been looking forward to a Chinese meal. Paid nearly £40 for two and I initially thought something had been missed as so little. Portions were tiny not like they used to be. Full of onion and pepper to fill the dish up. Hardly any meat at all. The woman on the phone was very inpatient. When delivered not hot at all. Won’t be going there again. Ever!!! Can anyone recommend a good Chinese locally please??
