Taverna - Tulum

Restaurant is at a new address. Tryed to update, but it wouldn't work. Calle 16, Plaza Ukana 1 building D, High Floor, 77780 Akumal, Q.R. You don't have many vegan options, but what they have is delicious. They did not make me a special pasta on the menu with vegan white wine and garlic sauce, mushrooms and pine nuts and it was probably the best pasta dish I ever had. Also has a tomato pasta dish, as well as bruschetta and green salad. I would definitely go back if I stayed longer in Akumal.

The only reason I could not give a 5-star rating here is because this place is not 100% vegan. You have super delicious vegan and veggie options I will be very honest here, I live in this region, I go up and down the Riviera Maya 3 to 4 times a week, from Playa del Carmen to Tulum. This restaurant is in my Top 3, no doubt!. I'm so happy every time I go there. I always think when I'm going back. Elda and her employees are very special people, they are so profesional and all the time they are so friendly and respectful. They are always happy with a big smile and feeling so happy to host you. Food is sooooo good. For me, No.1 Pizzas and Pastas is here, they are absolutely incredible, everything on the menu is sooo delicious. Also fantastic drinks, they have excellent wine, very good drinks/mixture, really good beer and their Aperol splash and their Mezcal Mule are definitely one of a kind. It's just a hidden jewel for my family and me. By the way, before I write, I was at least 15 times in this restaurant. So I can tell you every single word of this review is 100% checked. Alejandro

I contacted Taverna before a holiday. Knowing I needed some vegan options and did not want to navigate the Spanish explanation right now. Elda quickly replied that I know her spaghetti has no eggs. She proposed the white wine and garlic sauce or Pomodoro. I ordered the white wine and garlic sauce with vegetables. This was a special order, but they didn't hunt an eye. Beautiful service and they took care of another member of our party with allergies. Of course, you also have a salad option, and other options made slightly vegetarian. Husband had the cheese ravioli (vegetarian) and was very satisfied with them. Options are limited, but if you spend a week in Akumal without a car, the selection of the restaurant is somewhat limited. Taverna is a wonderful restaurant for omnis, and made it an option for me there. Would it love to create a few intentional options and highlight them on the menu.

I was able to try a special pasta dish with vegan white wine and garlic sauce, mushrooms, and pine nuts that was probably the best pasta dish I have ever had.
