Bidra med feedbackThe dinner was fantastic! Except the bar from sangria everything was great!
All right. I've been thinking about trying this place. it always comes as a suggestion on open table. I guess it's not bad if they stay in the hotel and don't feel like venting. but there is a lot out there with better eating and more variety. it's probably not somewhere where we're going back anytime soon.
We were satisfied with our dinner at alloro doc and plan a return. there were some smaller service matches, but we will torment the up to the additional requirements of a Christmas dinner. I would recommend to go before sunset and grab a table with a view of the catalinas. the changing light on the mountains is beautiful.
My family and I visited Alloro DOC on Christmas Day for an early dinner and were so disappointed in the service and food we received. Our reservation was at 3:30pm and we arrived at 3:10pm. We were left standing at the hostess stand for 10 minutes while the wait staff looked directly at us and ignored us. When we asked to be seated they said there were told there were no tables available. At that time the restaurant was virtually empty. I explained that we had reservations and they agreed to seat us. No apology for being rude. I took into consideration that it is the holidays and I am sure they were understaffed. However after sitting with nothing but water for 20 minutes. I finally got up and asked for a menu to review. That's when the waitress explained to me that there was no menu and we were to choose from two menu options. I wish we were told there was going to be a holiday pre-fix menu upon booking the reservation. Because there was no menu; there was no way for me to know the caesar salad I ordered included apricots. Who expects apricots in a caesar salad? The wait staff offered no acknowledgement for the slow service and the confusion. We were even told we couldn't have rolls with our meal. I could go on but you get the point. If you go there, leave immediately and go across the street to Culver's where at least you can get service with a smile, hot food and decent treatment.
The food and personal service at Alloro makes this rejuvenated hotel restaurant a hidden gem. Get a booth in the back for a romantic evening or eat at the bar, it's all great. The steaks here are nothing short of amazing, rivaling premier Tucson steakhouses such as Sullivan's or Fleming's, and the location on the far east side makes it unique in town. Korin is an attentive and professional server, and Darren, the manager is an expert on their nice wine selection which also has a number of premium value wines and spirits including some nice bourbons. A first class night out without having to pay a fortune... this is a real find. Bravo to Hilton for finally teaming a top Tucson (award-winning) chef with superior experienced service management at this nice location.
