Trovato per caso nel mezzo di una miriade di vicoletti, questa bella taverna, personale professionale e gentile, piatti curati e gustosi. la pasta tipica n'duja fileja e la cipolla di tropea da provare, eccezionale. Bene.
Positive dinge first: eating was delicious and although the portions are rather small, the price of e.g. 10€ for a vegetarian pasta is also comparable low. on the other side came the fish gnocchi with fish bone. sometimes easily avoided. I have. three stars to reduce: 1) the service has not really attentiveness. they came to the three times to take the order to bring the food, to collect the teller / to bring the bill. In between, it is not to be checked, although we wanted to order a drink. 2) they enjoy the overload. we ordered an Italian beer and received an Italian beer. Once the check arrived, they told us it was an Italian beer and coxts 6 instead of 3€. the waiter made the mistake of bringing the wrong beer and the customer must pay. or it is the strategy, double charge. 3) obviously there are 2€ per person table fee, but as mentioned the service is not really on the speed. therefore we were accused, but not even received the broth that all other tables were given round.
We were happy last night in tropea and decided to celebrate with a special fish dinner at a beautiful place. we discovered the osteria del pescatore in the evening before and had a nice chat with a guy who was connected to the restaurant (possibly the...owner) while over. we saw on trip advisor and noticed the mixed reviews, but the photos of the courts pushed us to try. the reality did not agree with the image. each catastrophe requires the confluence of several failures, and that was not an exception. first we ordered antipasti full expectation. When they arrived, we were disappointed to see that the crowd was quite annoying. our octopus salad was delicious, but two tablespoons spread over a servier plate for eur12 is neither on the eye, nor does it hunger very. our hopes were still on the main dishes: thunfish with tropea tweeping and thunfish with three same next mistake was waiting underminable (approx. an hour). Third, when our main course finally arrived, it was cold and undercooked. In view of our waiting and the rugged hunger, we decided not to send it back. when we asked how everything was confronted with the personal. they explained that the gas cylinder had run out in the kitchen. in that we saw that a gas supplier had passed our table and replaced the 20kg gas cylinder. this is inevitable a kitchen running out of fuel in the middle of the top dining hour! what kind of chef has this restaurant? they can have run out of the food! we could have forgiven the waiting period if they had explained the problem with the gas, redeem our food and delivered it properly boiled and hot. of course the main parts were also miniskule. fifty-eight euro for tiny bites of poorly prepared food. we felt deceived by a tourist trap. in fairness for the personal they listened to our complaining politely and were friendly. on a bit reflexion after the fact, the night and the day nature of the mixed reviews for this restaurant seem to display various employees at different nights: a competent and other not so competent. we've got bad luck. two stars (instead of one) for the fact that the personal reacted to us politely, but they really need to work on their professionalism and the consistency of the quality of their food service.
It was an anbsolutely marvellous experience! The best food I've eaten in Tropea, magical atmosphere outside of the restaurant, excellent staff, everything was perfect and we loved it!
