Bidra med feedbackThanks to TripAdvisor I found this hidden gem for a very tasty and traditional meal based on fresh seafood and fish and traditional cooking. It's always nice to find places like this, that still preserve the good old recipes and pay attention to the quality of raw materials
In 2014 a number of restaurants in the Carso area launched a campaing entitled sapori del Carso (tastes of Karst , trying to revamp the local cuisine (which deserves it! . La Lampara (the name of the strong lamp used by the local fishermen at night to attract fish in their nets was part of it, and offered lovely local dishes (both fish and meat , all accompanied by a specific local wine (recently local wines have reaches peaks of excellence unknown before . La Lampara offered great dishes at a reasonable price. Family run, it could be a great place, if only more attention to service and atmosphere were paid. Space for improvement, good potential.
The seafood was good, service friendly (although they didn't speak English, the menu was available in English). Quite big portions, for example primi piatti risottos were so huge that we had to skip secondi... We sat on a terrace, at least on Tuesday evening it was quiet and cosy.
