The Spot - Trail

The food was quick and delicious, but the waitress appeared inexperienced. She seemed flustered and ended up getting my order wrong. I may not return quickly, but I wouldn't actively avoid this restaurant either.

We have visited The Spot before and I previously wrote a positive review about their breakfast. However, our recent experience was not as good. The restaurant has changed their hours and now opens at 11am. I ordered breakfast while my husband opted for lunch. Unfortunately, my scrambled eggs tasted gritty and seemed to have been reheated. I suspect they may not have been real eggs, possibly a liquid variety. I had to put ketchup on them for the first time ever. The hash browns were nearly burnt and the bacon was undercooked. I returned the breakfast to the chef and explained the issues with the eggs and toast. He offered to make me a new plate, but it was essentially the same as before, except for the toast. The only enjoyable part of my meal was the toast. We will not be returning to The Spot again. We were extremely disappointed with our experience.

My husband and I have now been here twice, and both times it has been delicious! The atmosphere is a classy old-style diner with photos of old celebrities like Munroe and Elvis, and it's got the music to complete the blast-to-the-past effect. They serve home-style burgers and fries, and you can get tasty smoothies too! I've had the Helter Smelter and the Jamaican burgers, and I was so impressed that I think I've found my new favorite hide-away. The portions could be bigger, but all together, this is a fantastic lunch spot for a fair price.

I been there for the first time in about two years with a friend and they have a new menu! They have a vast selection of burgers. I highly recommend the Cheddar, Bacon and Ranch burger. If you are living in the Rossland-Trail area or travelling through, drop by and have a burger.

Last time I drove by this restaurant it looked closed down. There was paper on the windows. Hopefully they are only doing a remodel because the food was decent.
