Les Canailles - Tours

I don't know where the other people who published reviews and the staff was very nice, so I'm sorry that I feel compelled to check what I felt was an unacceptable meal. the eating was gland, sweet undercooked and the same undercooked...the vegetables were on almost every dish without thought to harmonize with the main ingredient. even the dessert of roasted apricoses was barely caramelized and had, what tasted, how rugged sterling cake burst on the top. the brot and the wein were very good as the gratin de pdt (pommes de terre.) at least the portions were small, so I was not filled with mediocre eating. the place was packed so that either people were misleading as I was at the reviews or they like boring eating.

This is not fine dining but it is very good family style cooking good food huge portion sizes but not much finesse. Nothing wrong with that of course and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal but needed a long walk to settle it all...down! The service was pleasant and efficient and another plus point its open on a Sunday night but best to book as its not too large.

For starter we took a local specialty, a kind of warm cheese with walnuts and honey- lovely!.We had liver and a fish dish for main coarse, both tasty with fresh vegetables.

Excellent mid-range restaurant close to the cathedral, decorated with vintage pieces, it offers excellent French cuisine and well presented.
