Bidra med feedbackWe arrived after a long journey at nearly 3pm and were greeted and seated for lunch without any fuss. Appears to be a family run and served restaurant. The service was friendly, and the food very good on our first day. The folks who were serving also spoke good english. The second time we went, my fish and chips was not as good as the first time. The others in our party liked the food and the entrecote and lamb were done very well. All in all not the best food, but nice and cheerful, a pleasant terrace to have lunch on, and parking nearby make this a pleasant place to have lunch.
We thought that this restaurant would be nice and serve good local food - but not. The restaurant seemed to be nice at it has nice terrace. But sorry to say that food is not nice. We ate as a starter; fried seafood, chevre salad and snails. Fried seafood was awful and eg prawns were fried with shell. Chevre at chevre salad was at toas bread and the salad didn't feel fresh. Snails were okay, but unfortunatelly there was only one portion left, we were asking two.As a main course we ate sea bass, some fish trio, prawns in bastis and fish&ship. All courses were disappointments. We really ask was the fish fresh and they said that yes, but if it was fresh then something went wrong with cooking. The vegetables served with the main courses were prepared maybe hours before and maybe only warmed up. Desserts; chokolate fondant, creme brulee and some floating dessert. Fondant was okay, brulee was too eggy and that floating thing was again awful, egg whites cooked and served with caramel sauce. And notice; if you take a menu ( 32,-€) we find that the portion sizes were different than you order food from ala carte ? One in our table ordered chevre salad from alacarte and one from the ala carte and the portion size was much bigger when ordered from ala carte. For us it seemed like a little cheat. Why you make special menu suggestion and prices if you then make the portions different/smaller? The restaurant is not cheap and I would say that it is over priced if you take into account the food quality.Service - I don't remember that neither of ladys serving has asked nothing about the food while we also left the food to the plates. So maybe I have to say that service was also poor.
Staff was friendly and the restaurant is in nice location. There is room for parking just across the street. There were five of us and we were the first ones sitting in the restaurant. Snails were good, but they could only make one plate of them for the five of us... They also didnt have the salmon from entrees. Salads were kind of disappointing. Also those who ate the menu (32e) had smaller salad than the rest. Shrimps had shells on them even though they were deep fried. Fish was good. Chocolate cake was okay and melted inside just as it was supposed to be. Floating island (or something like that) was kind of awful, egg whites and some sauce. Wasnt worth the money.
We had a lovely dinner for 12 of us at this restaurant. The staff were really attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Recommend the lasagne.
We have eaten here twice already on this trip and both times the food, service and ambience were exceptional. The menu is extensive with many dishes especially on comparison to most other restaurants in the area that offer a very limited selection. I can highly recommend the stuffed mussels, sardines, skate and the pizzas are cooked in a proper wood oven and are amazing and very large. The lady proprietor runs a tight ship and the place is always beautifully turned out and very clean. The ille flottante (sic) is the best I've ever had. The house wine is good and our waitress an absolute delight. If you're in the area make a point of eating here.
