If you are looking for light and healthy food, this is not your favorite place. But if you want a decent meal consisting of beans, duck and other such stuff go for it. I had Foie de Gras du Canard as a starter and the Cassoulet as main course. Absolutely delicious, though I was not able to eat it all. Very generous portion, super friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Definitely a place to return too, but not too often in order to stay slim ;
The food was good but it doesnt compensate the fact that the waiter was extremly rude. When we first entered (a group of 4) we saw no one around so we sitted in a nearby table for 4. Suddenly the waiter aproached saying nonono! Very loudly. He told us it was him who was suposed to choose a place for us. All good, we understood. We seated and he gave us menues. He quickly aproached to ask what we wanted and we ask for one more minute to decide. He gave us a bad look and gave us aproximetly 1 minute later. We ask for two cassoulets menues (it was 24 euros and came with entree AND deasert) to share since they were very big. He looked at us and informed ya we were four people. Yes, and we wanted to share. He said we couldnt share the lunch menúes so we could ask for the dishes a la carte . We Said ok, can we have two cassoulets and he told us no, se had to order 1 dish each of you. We Said ok can we have one more minute to decide now and he said no and pointed at his watch and the kithen behind him. We looked at him in disbelief. We started debating what to order and he eventually left for a second or two and then came back and continued to stare at us. Now, two of us speak french and the other two dont, so we had to translate everything. He spoke in a very quick french and gave us bad looks when we ask him to repeat since we didn 't understood. We didnt expect him to speak another language than french but he really seemed to have no intention to make himself understood. It was clearly difficult for us to understand him and he seemed really uninterested in helping us. We ended up ordering two entrees and two cassoulets wich was way too much food and way too expensive (wich seemed to be his objective, to make us spend more money) but we didnt have another choice. We contemplated leaving but it was raining and the other place se wanted to go nearby was closed. The food was quite good and after that he was notoriusly nicer and we also had another waitress who was very nice. Still, cassoulet Is a dish you can get pretty much everywhere un toulouse and nearby cities, in places where you wont need to feel so mistreated.
Delicious. The best cassoulet I ate in my life. The master and the waiter are smiling and kind. The atmosphere is perfect. We also ate well prepared frogs. We ordered the Rhone side that was great!!
For foie gras and cassoulet lovers. The restaurant is in a vaulted cellar. The welcome is warm. Prices are correct.
