Bidra med feedbackVery nice place with nice waiter! after a small complaint, I was kindly compensated with a coffee on the house. Thank you! will be back.
I spent a week end at Toulouse to compare cassoulet and I was very disappointed by chez Huguette, Very expensive for beans, very greasy and tiny duck leg, only 2 piece of meat for a price that is almost twice the cassoulet from the Cave...au Cassoulet. It is not the place to eat a true cassoulet. My wife took the omelette with mushrooms, no taste and she had only this, no salad or patatoes.
I wanted to eat French mushrooms for a long time and I thought a restaurant where a dish costs 28 euros will provide the best possible experience!! Big mistake they came on their own, a bunch of simply fried, oily mushrooms.. no taste at all.....and that, after a long wait when only bread and water were offered. The other dishes we ordered were not much better either dry chicken and soggy chips an undercooked mushroom omelette !! And all very expensive ! Waiters never bothered to ask how the food was. This ruined the whole Toulouse experience Never again !!!
There are plenty of choices on the menu from a snack to menu of the day to 3/4 course meal. The first time we visited we just had a snack and drink whilst watching food being served to other customers which looked really good and tempting so the following day we called back in for our main meal complete with the excellent local red wine called Fronton which is a really good wine as we had tried it previously at and Italian we had visited.
We were recommended Huguette by the receptionist in our hotel and it was a great recommendation. We were in Toulouse for the weekend and ended up at Huguette our first and last nights. Friendly and quick service even for us and we were obvious tourists with not good French, although we tried. The menu is all in French and we ended up looking up words on our phones but the first night I ordered an absolutely massive pork chop with lentils and it was amazing. We went back on our last night to make sure we had genuine French cassoulet and again excellent. It is not the cheapest restaurant ever, I paid 22 euros for the cassoulet which is essentially a pork and beans dish but it was worth the quality. It was crowded both nights full of local French people all having a good time. I would highly recommend Huguette if you are staying in the Place Wilson area.
