I've had my share of cassoulet over the years, but honestly the one here was expertly crafted. Absolutely delicious and great with a nice glass of wine.
Dinner was booked up but we made it for lunch the next day, superb cooking, everything was first class, cold summer soup, hake for main course and delicious peach dish for dessert. 20 or 24 euros well worth it. First class cuisine. No wonder they have many reservations.
During a business stay on Toulouse we had several dinners in different types of restaurants. On our last night we came here, since we wanted to have the typical cassoulet (even though more of a winter dish) and we had been said this was the best place to have it. Nice atmosphere sitting here on a sunny summer evening, with the hussle and bustle of a french old town square.For aperitif I had a kirr (white wine) with violette.The cassoulet was very good and I was glad to not have opted for a starter first.I did have dessert and the souffle with Grand Marier was just a heavenly treat, especially when the waiter came to put a scoop of ice cream in the souffle.Restaurant is probably overpriced indeed, but where is this not the case in a touristic place on a square like this?
