The chef, alain audibert, is always as demanding on the quality and freshness of his products. everything is made home, for the greatest pleasure of our taste buds. super family evening, this 15th August with direct view of the fireworks at the fort saint louis just on the other side of the road.
We had a very good evening, very good meal, fish menu, a very warm welcome. good value for money.
On May 8, 2017 we went to the restaurant belly to celebrate our couple anniversary, and did not regret the dinner.Nevertheless, if everything had been perfect - and you will admit that it is a strong term, then the note would also have been; That's why I'll try to be as objective as possible. We started the meal with the aperitif and both opted for a pool, a punch cocktail and cinnamon-spiced champagne. it was fresh, maybe a little light, but pleasant to taste buds and ideal to chain on the entrance. On this occasion, my companion opted for the nuts of st jacques with the white truffle of the high var (called "tuber aestivum",) while I tried the foie gras with its kumquats jam of the local garden, parsemé de grains de grenade. My acolyte found his fantastic entrance, the jacco nuts cooked to perfection, while I pushed back to the foie gras to be a little too cooked and not scented enough. the kumquat was a little too present - and in the accompaniment and bread, making the whole materially disgusting. I think it would have been more sensible to treat the marinade of the foie gras before cooking rather than to force the taste with its accompaniment. still in my humble opinion, and it is worth what it is worth, red fruit - in jelly if it is not season - or autumn would have had a better agreement while highlighting the potential of the food. to continue the dinner, we took the crust beef with a cep sauce, renowned in this restaurant. and for cause. It was a delight. rarely happened to us to be able to taste such a good meat, at least cooked with talent as was the case. do not trust the plate: it was very consistent it is worth its price. Moreover, if you want to marry your dish with a good wine, you will either need a substantial budget reserve or ask for advice from the excellent sommelier who offered us a bandol at 35 euros the bottle. Not only did he personally like us, but in addition he has very well agreed with our dishes.To allow us to move on, a digestive to anise and speculos was offered to us. Although this first flavor rarely enjoys - as it is my case, I was pleasantly surprised by this agreement. disturbing at first, the taste that develops on the tongue is softened and offers an interesting bouquet afterwards. If I could give you advice, it would be the one not to stop you on a single impression. To finish and pure greed, we selected a plate of sweet assortments. And here. It was the drama. a real disaster in an ocean of pleasures. cooking is certainly a good cook, but it is not pastry for however, which is a profession in its own right. all the pastry cooks are cooked but a cook is not necessarily pastry; each his domain. Please, take a pastry for desserts, because we were very disappointed. melon's Chantilly had only the name so much its taste of iron was pronounced, not to mention each assortment badly selected. chocolate mousse with mint was good, and pie also, but they were certainly not worthy of a restaurant such as this, as cheesecake was one of the worst that it was given to us to taste. the texture was gelatinous or even rubbery, while the taste was totally chemical. We couldn't finish any of the samples.Although this dessert left us a bitter taste, we had an excellent evening in a magnificent setting, under a tent decorated with romantic lighting, accompanied throughout by a carefully selected music. We would like to thank the young server, which was obviously beginning because shy and shy, but on the other hand very welcoming, smiling and friendly. He was fully involved in the pleasure of this evening. In short, we recommend this restaurant with closed eyes, because my opinion is purely subjective although it is a bit harsh. We have tasted excellent dishes very original and very tasty.Face to the strong st louis that is a very nice setting, I took advantage with my husband to invite rma mama on the eve of the day of the Mother's Day.We were very well received with a very good rhythm and tasted dishes quite excellent well done and delicious. We'll be happy to come back, especially since the server has told us a location to park in the future, so we don't know.
