Chiringuito Rincon De Pepe - Torrox

We live just a few meters from this'restaurant' so decided to visit for lunch today for the first time since it's recent refurbishment. What a bad decision! The food was mediocre at best, although the female waiting staff were lovely service was VERY slow, wine is cheaper by the glass than by the bottle and we had to query the bill three times. We were charged for a such 6.50 euro dearer than we had ordered but when we queried this were told that was what we had been given so would have to pay. Three times we were told that we hadn't received the Ali Oli we had ordered and, when it was eventually taken off the bill, the total was higher than it was before work that one out if you can! I always, always tip generously but this was one time that i didn't leave a cent which is a shame as the girls who served us were lovely and deserved acknowledgement but I had to make a gesture to show how disgusted we were. Location is lovely but I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. A special lunch absolutely ruined.

Situated right on the beach, great freshly cooked food, good prices and friendly staff and a really relaxing atmosphere. You can spend the entire day there

We live in Torrox village, and use this lovely little chiringuito regularly. It’s located right on the beach, at the side of a rocky little cove very pretty. During high season it is normally heaving, so it’s best to book in July and August. The menu is extensive, very Spanish and fantastic if you want to try real, local food. The dishes range from beautifully fresh fish and shellfish, to half a small lamb, slow cooked in the oven (enough for 6 people and pre order only) Their rabbit dishes are wonderful, and the big ‘table’ dishes come served in enormous pans straight out of the oven or off the hob. No frills just lovely food. The salads are enormous and would easily feed four people, so we normally share dishes when we’re here. That way we can order more than one thing and all share. The place is always full of Spanish people, so I think that says a lot. Beautiful in the early evening sun. A real favourite of ours.

La vista del mar es la atracción aquí y ciertamente vale la pena seguir el camino. Comida decepcionante: aceitunas horribles, pescado demasiado cocido y una espera notablemente larga a pesar de que había pocos clientes allí.

Muy bien situado, buen servicio y buena comida. Volveremos
