Number Eight - Torridge

I took my husband here for his birthday dinner and it was unforgettable. The food was incredibly well prepared with so many different elements to them. The portion sizes were perfect, the place was visually beautiful. So glad such a gem is not that far from us. We have already planned to visit again. A credit to the owners! Great for a couples night out or with a group of friend who appreciate fine dining.

Another excellent meal at the best restaurant on the area. First time for us at their lovely new home across the river. Food always outstanding and Chloe does a fabulous job on front of house. If we are down in Devon this is the first place we book for a meal.

NUMBER EIGHT: We have had the privilege of dining at some incredible restaurants across Europe, but we can confidently say that our experience at Number Eight was one of the best. The food quality, creativity, and presentation were flawless. If this restaurant doesn't deserve a Michelin star, then nothing does!

Fabulous Memories made for life, what an outstanding restaurant run by a dedicated couple. I cannot fault the ambiance, attention to detail, the service was outstanding. The taster menu didn’t disappoint, my taste buds danced to the tune of every mouthful of an extensive taste bud teasing experience. Thank you Team Number Eight.

This husband and wife team have made a bold move over the river to a larger venue. The new spot is chic and modern and the tables generously spaced. The two of them run everything seamlessly and produce top quality food seemingly effortlessly. We had the wine flight which was both well matched and generously poured. My only criticism was that service was a bit brisk we had to ask for a break before the brisket dish which was accommodated with no fuss whatsoever. An extra pair of hands front of house to serve arrival drinks and seat guests, clear plates could possibly help but I see these two enjoy what they do and they do it incredibly well. Don’t hesitate to visit. You’ll have a special night
