Bidra med feedbackBeing Indian of origin, I look for restaurants serving authentic food of the type I ate in my mother's kitchen. I and my family had a great lunch at this place.
Sorry to say as the staff were very nice, but I bought a takeaway tonight from here and it is easily the worst i have ever had. we got chicken tandoori masala, the chicken was on the bone and tasteless (although one part i am still struggling to know which part of the chicken) with an accompaning sauce which was so full of leaves it made it quite horrible, in fact i ate only several mouthfulls of the meal and a lamb madras which was ok but very mild. The nan was stale and rice hard and all of it cold, even although i waited for 20mins for it to be cooked fresh. All in all in a waste of money.
We live in the area so have pretty much tried every Indian restaurant in the Quesada Los Montesinos Playa Flamenca area. We used to frequent the best one in the area but since two of the former proprietors (brothers) left, it's gone rapidly downhill but I won't go into that now. On the lookout for a new regular Indian restaurant, we elected to try this from the review above. We decided to coincide the visit with a trip to the cinema due to its handy location so turned up fairly early. We had papadoms to start which were good (we've had bad in the past, believe me) and the only minor criticism would be the mango sauce being a bit runny. For the mains, my madras was delicious and the lamb rogan josh the better half ordered melted in the mouth. Good portions and one rice easily served two. My peshwari naan was a 8 10 but the paratha was about a 6. We had gulab jamons in sugar syrup for pud and I'd go back just for them truth-be-told! Very tasty. The g f had a glass of wine and I had a bottle of water and the whole lot came in at €31. Very good price for an Indian over here in our experience. We struggled to find it before actually drivng there because Google Streetview is out of date. It shows another curry house on the corner next to where this one now is. As previously mentioned it's on the same block as the Mercadona. If you go past Lidl on the left by Habaneras as if you were coming from Avenida Cortes Valencianas, go straight over the roundabout into Toretta II and then straight over the next (I think it's the third exit). The restaurant is up there about 50 yards on the left. Plenty of free nearby parking in Mercadona car park. It's now our favourite in the area bar none, so we shall return as often as will allow. ...and the service was very friendly and efficient but not overly bothersome.
On holiday in Torrevieja we came across this Indain restaurant. Although the outside seating area is not the best it is worthwhile actually going inside the restaurant. They have an early evening menu between 5PM and 7PM where you can choose any chicken curry from the menu together with rice or nan bread for 5euros.95 cent. We were also given pompadoms and dips while we waited on the main course. The curry was excellent and we enjoyed it so much that we in fact returned twice during our holiday to experience the full menu. The satff were friendly and very helpfull in offering advice about varioud dishes. The retarant itself is lovely and clean. Its only problem is the outside eating are. It seems to actually be a small area of the car park for the adjoining take aways. The retaurant is situated just down the raod from Carrfour Planet beside Tthe mercadona supermarket. We will certainly be returning there on our next visit to Torrevieja
