Bidra med feedbackThere are only good things to say about this hidden gem. Best food and wine experience we've had in Portugal, excellent quality fresh ingredients, traditional dishes, warm welcome, lovely conversations with Rui the owner. Bernardo his son is a world class chef. 5 star experience all round. We will be back for sure as this experience is unique, peaceful and good for the mind body and soul.
The doorway fashioned out of a large black wine vat is charming and indicative of the surprise inside. A high ceilinged room with wine bottles and cases everywhere The owner was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the various local grapes and wine, we tried a few! The food was all local and prepared with care, as we walked in to the dining room, there was a glass case of fresh caught fish on ice that showcased the evenings specials. We tried the crispy fried mackerel sprats and the Piemento de Padrones fresh from the sea and the garden, it was a great start. Simply grilled fish and salads followed topped by a stunning dessert of homemade perfectly set Panna cotta topped with a reduction of sweet tomatoes thick and intense It's worthy of another visit!
An exceptional place serving the most delicious food, locally sourced, expertly cooked by the chief Bernardo and attentively served by the proprietor, Rui who made excellent recommendations about exquisite local wines. This is the best food you can possibly have in this region and beyond land at the most reasonable prices. You have to try it!
The overall experience was very good! I can recommend the “cabrito grelhado” with the house spicy sauce. Portions were perfect, the house wine wonderful and the service was very attentive. I will return without a doubt!
A great place with excellent service and amazing food! The house has an great choice of wines and serves both meat and fish. The chef is a young talent that prepares traditional Portuguese food with his own personal touch. A place to return many times!
