Bidra med feedbackI waited 1 hour and 17 minutes for eight slices of RAW fish. Service was great: just like the rest of the hotel (don't forget to tip). Unfortunately, the amount of time I spent waiting for my food was truly unacceptable and I won't be back until they figure out how to execute the sushi bar properly.
Nice perk for staying at the Omni. Sushi is freshly made to order. Although they did not get our order right and it took forever to get our sushi, what they brought us was delicious. The California Coconut with avocado, cucumber and cream cheese covered with tempura sauce and coconut was unique and tasty. The Veggie and Spicy Tuna were good. They forgot the Chicken Cosmo and Banana Roll which looked interesting as well. Tips: The hours posted are not accurate. Stop by to check to see if they are open. Each order has four pieces. Order everything that you think you want at one time. Our order took forty five minutes to prepare.
The sushi bar was inside the Omni Hotel and resorts, it was part of our inclusive package. You should just check the hours and the dates the sushi bar is open, we were only able to experience the bar one day during our trip since we went during off-season. The bar is located by the main pool and you can sit at the bar or they have tables near by for you to enjoy your meal. They had a nice range of sushi to choose from and they all sounded really tasteful . We were able to try a couple of rolls. You receive four pieces per roll. One rolled surprise me, it was really good and I was unsure with the ingredients . The roll had fried banana and mango the Banana sushi is something you should definitely give a try. Since it's inclusive you don't have to worry about getting so many rolls, so you can try them and I did try a lot. The fish is fresh, the sushi was great, and it was already paid for so we really enjoyed it!! How fun to be able to have sushi when you're in Mexico!
So this Sushi Bar is part of one of the 6 food stall/restaurant offered on the Wyndham Grand Cancun Resort. While I didn’t have much expectation to begin with, I thought I give it a try. Upon showing at the front, the waiter that took my order was extremely rude. He asked me what I wanted and took down on a piece of paper. This is fine. When I prompted him what is there to drink, he responded open bar (great! ; I asked him any menu or suggestion despite open bar, he looked at me like with a look and chuckled and just said “well *sarcastic smile some more* it’s open bar whatever you want”. The waiter then proceeded to talk to his colleague in their native language and they both gave me looks. I ordered a Long Island ice tea, and I couldn’t help but to feel the drink mix was terrible. I came back to ask for a coke or soda, they just went and go “oh, la isla, ja la isla *chuckles*”but I had never got anything after. I have to say, already you made me felt uncomfortable with your lack of proper service attitude, you made me felt further uncomfortable by having that chat with your colleague with how I felt was belittling and rude. First, I give it to them that the “Long Island iced tea” was hard, but it didn’t taste anywhere close to “La Isla de Long Island”. In fact, it felt like nasty cheap alcohol concocted together. Now for the food, I ordered their salmon sashimi, BOGA Rolls, Wyndham Rolls, Banana Rolls, Shrimp Tempura Rolls, Fried Chicken Rolls, as well as Spider Rolls. Going back on what I said before, I wasn’t expecting much in term of quality of the sushi, but boy. The rice was hard, felt like day old rice. The salmon sashimi felt like it was barely just defrosted. They also paired with some sauce which I believe was some watered down soy sauce, barely had any taste to it The presentation was okay. Each roll came with 4 pieces as mentioned on their slab of menu (it’s literally a wooden slab with color I didn’t expect like great or amazing but this felt like nothing more than a slapdash gimmick. Not to mention the service attitudeI’m sorry to say but W T F. All the other restaurant I have had so far was okay. Food was okay-decent but this.this restaurant need to be reorganized or change to something else. And the staff serving on Nov 28th of 2023 between 3-5PM, the male drink mixer as well as the black dressed male waiter who served me need to consider having a serious re-training. The 4 stars was for the atmosphere, missed 1 because it is located in an area where you can barely view the sea as a “sea-sided restaurant” Service and Food gets only star for the slap-dash “effort”.
