Saray Cafe and Restaurant

We used to eat here regularly. Increased there prices by 25% overnight. The most overpriced takeaway food in Adelaide and the service is poor. No thanks.

Not a large place, but deservedly busy at nights quieter during the weekdays at lunchtime. Authentic freshly cooked lamb, chicken skewers on the BBQ grill with accompanying salad, dips/sauces and bread. Other meals such as eggplant; meatballs also available. Turkish sparkling mineral water in blue bottles is great, and their tea is delicious. We struggle to finish our meals, but we do so because they are so delicious. They are not money hungry people serves are generous and prices very reasonable they deserve every success. They have also installed a toilet for the disabled complete with push button doors. Very good of them.

We took my elderly mother out for dinner tonight and thought we’d try this place as we enjoy that cuisine. As there were 5 of us the wait staff put two tables together where we arrived and we sat down to order. We ordered our meals and were waiting when the waitress approached us and said we couldn’t put the tables together. I explained that we didn’t, their staff had done that when we arrived. She left and a few minutes later she returned to inform us that the Manager (spineless) had told her to let us know we hadn’t ordered enough food to justify 2 tables. The fact that he didn’t have the spine to come over and talk to us instead of sending a young waitress is pathetic. Also, I’m not sure where it is written that you have to spend a minimum amount if you dine in and had ordered a few things. To be treated in such a poor manner as we simply walked in and asked to be seated and they chose the configuration is also pathetic. We will never step foot in this place again as their customer service is -15 stars. They did give us our money back so that’s the only positive thing I can say about this place.

Went with the lad. He ordered the chicken yiros and chips. I ordered the yiros meat salad and pitta and some dips. Massive meal and scrumptious ! Next time going to try kebabs and meatballs. Reasonable pricing and busy inside and via UBER. Will be back as good feed and freshly made. Only complaint when ordered as my daughter could not come so ordered at time of ordering a falafel yiros. Sadly they forgot and took a while to make this as we were ready to go.

I had the lamb Yiros. Husband had the felafel plate. They were both tasteless. Very noisy and lots of flies. I won’t be back.
