Bidra med feedbackI arrived shortly after 7 PM on a Saturday, and to my delight, I only had to wait 10 minutes for my food to be freshly prepared. I ordered the set menu to take home, which included chicken dansak for just £9.50. My meal came in a paper bag and aluminum container, showing a great commitment to eco-friendly practices. As for the food, the chicken dansak was hands down the best I’ve had in years. The rice was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful, while the mint sauce was refreshing and delicious. The poppadoms were crispy without being greasy, and the bhaji was delightful, especially when dipped in the spicy Bombay sauce. I highly recommend this Indian takeaway as one of the best in Devon, and it boasts a 5-star hygiene rating. If you found my review helpful, please give it a like. Thank you!
I initially wanted to write a negative review, but their outstanding curry dishes changed my mind. Unfortunately, the delivery was really slow, and the driver was quite rude and offered no apologies, which I found off-putting. This was our first time ordering from Green Chilies, but the poor reviews—particularly regarding slow service—make us hesitant to order from them again. It’s a shame, especially since the food was delicious.
The curries here are rich and full of flavor. However, the naans leave something to be desired, and even the chips aren't up to par (despite my personal preference for having curry with chips). That said, the impressive variety of delicious options keeps us coming back. The sheek kebab is the best I've had in Torquay, and the creamy saag is a brilliant creation. Overall, the offerings are fantastic, although the side dishes, like the naans and rice, could be improved—they taste somewhat pre-packaged. I personally enjoy crispy, buttery garlic naan, but they tend to be quite heavy and thick.
