Bidra med feedbackWhat an awesome spot for a lunch or brunch. Nice and quaint inside with friendly service. Massive portions that are worth the little bit higher prices (for a diner type restaurant). My chicken avocado sandwich was fantastic. Will be back!
Tasty and serviceable. <br/ <br/ No place is better for novelty and wait times than Uncle Betty 's in this Midtown neighborhood. The food is very adaquete and satisfying, but lacks the X factor for a place called 'Uncle Betty 's '. Too much of the brunch menu is safe, with one or two items really differentiating the diner from other diners in the neighborhood. The benefit is if you show up at 9:30 on a Sunday, you 're guaranteed a table. Something that can 't be said for many brunch spots in Toronto. <br/ <br/ What makes Uncle Betty 's a wonderful spot are the donuts and milkshakes. With a nice variety of freshly baked donuts, you can 't really go wrong with ordering one or two. Don 't play it safe and try something with some flavour. <br/ <br/ Can 't say it 's the best brunch in the city, or even one of the best, but its a great neighborhood joint and that 's good enough.
On Saturday, my partner and I decided to try Uncle Betty's for lunch as we drove down Yonge St. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, as there were a few couples in line ahead of us. We noticed that the staff could have cleared the tables faster to reduce the wait time. Once seated, we quickly looked over the menu and placed our orders when our server arrived. My partner ordered the Classic French Toast with Bacon, which had a nice crispiness and cinnamon flavor. I opted for the Omelette of the Day, filled with tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and ham, with a side of home fries based on the waiter's recommendation. The omelette was hearty and satisfying. Before leaving, I visited the washroom and found it to be not as clean as it should have been. In summary, our server was good, the food was tasty, but the overall service was a bit slow and the cleanliness of the washroom was lacking.
I have only visited this restaurant for brunch and milkshakes, but I have had a great experience both times! During brunch, I ordered the eggs Benedict, which was delicious. It was made with peameal bacon and served on a donut, which was a unique twist from the typical English muffin. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and...
Uncle Betty's is a cute little restaurant a little north of Yonge and Eglinton. They are known for their donuts so I had to make sure I tried that. I ordered the oreo donut and cinnamon sugar donut. They were good but a little dense for my taste. I prefer light and airy donuts but the flavor was there none the less. The eggs Benedict was much better on a donut rather than a traditional English muffin absolutely delicious. It gets quite busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait. The table next to us ordered pancakes they looked super light and fluffy must try next time. Overall a solid brunch experience!
