Bidra med feedbackMake sure you order the Thai Toast appetizer!! Seriously
We started with the Thai Hot Sour Soup, which was satisfyingly hot and sour. The portions were generous enough for sharing. Next, we tried the Nuer Phad Kraphao (Beef with basil bamboo shoots). The beef was flavorful, but a bit tough to chew. Our final dish was the Pad Thai with chicken, shrimp, and tofu. While the dish was delightful, we felt that the portion of shrimp was a bit lacking. The service was friendly and courteous, but it did take a while for us to receive the bill after finishing our meal. Overall, our experience was mixed, but we still enjoyed our dinner at Satay On The Road.
The service at this restaurant is friendly. The curries were delicious and flavorful. However, the Satay and Pad Thai noodles were a bit bland. The appetizer platter had a good variety, but the portions were small, so if you are with a larger group, you may want to order 2 or 3.
I used to live in Toronto and one of my family's top restaurant choices was Satay on the Road. Whenever I visit the city, ordering from here is a must. They serve the best Pad Thai I have ever tasted. It is my favorite Thai restaurant without a doubt. I wish they had a location in Calgary!
Food is spotty, sometimes good, other times so so. Prices have really climbed so the unstable quality makes you question whether to go back.
