My husband & I were on vacation in TO & found this restaurant online noting that it had won recent awards. First, it was difficult to find and looked sketchy from the sidewalk. But we were hungry, it was hot, and it did win awards - so, we assumed that it would be a small, local diner that offered amazing meals. The restaurant is very small and had an overwhelming odor when we walked in. It smelled of too many food odors and not enough ventilation. The seats and tables were sticky and we couldn't see through the grimy window.We were the only customers in the restaurant at just before 5pm during the week.I usually can eat anything on the menu and always try to find something new to experience, that I would not normally cook or have at home. For the first time, I could not eat my meal - which was a fried chicken sandwich (burger). It was so greasy and wet that it had soaked through the bread and the smell was again, 'off'. The fries were very basic, something I could have made at home. The staff were loud, having personal conversations and didn't ask any questions about the meals. It was awkward, uncomfortable and a waste of money - but at least it was one of the most memorable meals ever. I would describe the little place as a "hipster wannabe diner".

My friends invited me, and i am a vegetarian, so I asked for their Poutine and once it was served I was tasting chicken in it, so I asked the server and she was "shocked", specially that I have already mentioned that I don't eat meat or chicken. Then I look at the kitchen and saw the cook putting the fries and chicken is the same fryer. The music was so bad as they were playing jazz while the other guy in the kitchen was playing rock so no conversation with friends. The floor was so dirty and the table was sticky. This one for sure never again.

The food is really good although seating is very limited. Portion sizes are large. They offer all day breakfast. Amazingly large bar stock for the size of the place. Service great. You may share a table with strangers
