Bidra med feedbackReally delicious and authentic Taiwanese desserts! They use fresh ingredients and made without preservatives. Everything is made fresh on the spot including the taro balls as well! I got the Herbal Tea with Fresh Milk and added Grass Jelly. It was pretty good and would order it again. Their shaved ice are really big portion sizes as well (see other people's pictures). They also have daily specials as well! Service is a bit slow depending on the time you order as they do sometimes get overwhelmed with the amount of mobile/app orders. They have a mobile device system that they give you that will ring when your order is done! Also when your order is done, you'll need to put the empty bowls in the back/sorting shelves. Otherwise, the restaurant is very spaced out for pandemic protocol. Great space for friendly chats and gathers! The only other thing to note is that their closing hour is labeled as 11pm but the staff told us 30min before that they were closing at 10:30pm. So probably depending on what time they felt like or closes at 10:30pm instead.
I?m usually not a fan of taro or beans so I never even considered trying this place until I passed by with a friend and she said that it is very popular in parts of Asia. She recommended the grass jelly bowls so I got the signature grass jelly bowl and she got the double love grass jelly that came with a scoop of ice cream and some taro. I have been totally missing out! This was soooo good and I didn?t mind the taro paste either. I liked it so much that I came back the same week to try the icy hot taro ball max. Although I did like it slightly more than the grass jelly bowl, it was double the calories so I think I will stick to the grass jelly base. I really liked how the whole bowl was not overwhelmingly sweet and the texture of the balls went really well with the shaved ice and grass jelly base. I will be definitely returning very soon.
Absolutely amazing place for desserts. They have a vast menu and tons of options sure to fit any taste. I got the double love and it was very reasonably priced for how much you got. It comes with a ton of grass jelly, mochi, taro paste, and other stuff. The flavors all worked together deliciously and was the perfect way to beat the heat
Meet Fresh might actually be my favourite dessert place in Toronto recently, and I consume more ice cream/dessert than any regular person should. I?ve tried their Jumbo Taro Milk Shaved Ice and the Jumbo Ube Milk Shaved Ice. Both were amazing, with a variety of dessert ingredients presented beautifully in a massive bowl. The only downside was for the Jumbo Taro, the taro pieces felt like too much. The texture contrast was nice, but I felt that they were too big and a little on the bland side. Nonetheless, the entire bowl comes together spectacularly and the shaved ice (both bowls) are the star of the show.
I personally love MeetFresh (from Ottawa), but MeetFresh here is very underwhelming and disappointing. First time, when I ordered the Matcha Mango Coconut Milk, the male staffs were too busy chitchatting that they forgot my drink was ready for 15 minutes. When I asked for my drink, they simply turned to realize that my drink was sitting ready in the bubble tea machine, and just said ?sorry?. The drink itself was very mediocre and tasted like bitter frozen mango drink. Second time, different staffs were working and they were friendly. I ordered the Matcha Bonsai Shaved Ice, but it was disappointing in terms of the quality. The serving size wasn?t filled up to the top of the bowl as it is advertised, hence was pretty small. And as seen in the picture, the cocoa powder was just dumped to the bowl. I have and would love to visit MeetFresh locations often, this location makes that questionable.
