Bidra med feedbackWe always look forward to budget-friendly Winterlicious and Summerlicious promotions to try out upscale restaurants like Jump. The food is good, the service is friendly and efficient, although it lacks a bit of character.
The Handmade Pastas section of the menu showcased Italian dishes made with North American ingredients. I typically avoid ordering lasagna at restaurants because I worry it will be a simple dish of pasta, meat, and cheese baked in an individual serving dish. However, I decided to trust the chef at this high-quality restaurant, and I was not disappointed.
After months of anticipation, I finally tried Jump yesterday. While I enjoyed the food, it wasn't exceptional. I have had great experiences at other O&B restaurants and had high expectations for this one, which may have influenced my rating. I had the artichoke and rapini as a starter, and the wild pacific salmon as my main course. Both dishes were good recommendations, but the meal fell short of my highest dining experiences.
A late night, last minute reservation brought me to Jump. We arrived at a rather empty hour around 10PM. Exceptional service as expected of an O B restaurant. Food from their Summerlicious dinner menu was a little lacking.<br/ I loved the 'Pig Parsley Terrine ' appetizer, you can 't go wrong with a terrine; the chicharron had an interesting texture, but I 'd rather be having this in a more casual setting than in a business casual restaurant. 'Alberta Lamb a la Plancha ' was mediocre, or rather, unbalanced; the lamb a la plancha was delicious, but the garnishing (fregola sarda, dried olives, charred treviso... was too salty and overwhelming that the whole dish tasted oddly unsatisfying. Hopefully will come back for another visit and try their regular dinner menu.<br/ <br/
As a fan and patron of other O&B joints in the GTA, my dinner at Jump was a highly-anticipated affair. And the experience was as fabulous as I expected it to be.<br/ <br/ There's plenty of reviews on here about the excellent menu, so I won't get into the intricacies of what we ordered. However, I will say that, as starters, the Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail and Pan-Seared Foie Gras were exquisite, while my main of Roasted Half Free-Range Chicken, served on a bed of caramelized onions, capers, cracked green olives, and mascarpone polenta shined in both quality and quantity, compared to the selections of my dining party.<br/ <br/ From Jump's excellent wine list, a few bottles of the 2006 Pirramimma Stock's Hill Shiraz served the perfect complement to our highly-palatable meal.<br/ <br/ The staff were friendly, the music selection was très cool, and the ambiance was stellar.<br/ <br/ I will conclude by saying that every appetizer, main and dessert, ordered by my group of nine, evoked an unanimous top score on the satisfaction and value for money scale...and was concluded by a definite promise to return.
