Bidra med feedbackI go to many cafes in the area and this is by far the best. Their baked goods are fresh and high quality and the coffee is always delicious. The last time I had such a lovely experience in a cafe was in France
I ordered a cafe Americano and an almond croissant, and the almond croissant is one of the best I've ever had. I would highly recommend Fleur du Jour if you're looking for a tasty pastry and you happen to be in the St. Clair West area.
The good news is the baked goods are legitimately very good in my opinion. Occasionally, like today, they 're worth braving the bad aspects of this bakery.First issue is the coffee is legitimately terrible. The espresso is bitter and overextracted. If you need to buy coffee here, get a milk drink to cover up the burnt flavour. Better yet, walk across the street to Sticky and get their substantially better coffee. The second and bigger issue for me is the general unwelcoming attitude I get every time I walk in here. Today as I 'm digging through my wallet to get my debit card, past several credit cards which understandably get much more use, the snippy teenager barks at me WE ONLY TAKE CASH OR DEBIT! Ma 'am, I know. You have five different signs stating as much. That 's why I 'm searching for my debit card.I have to really want a croissant to put up with the unwelcoming staff. Every single time I come here, they somehow give me a vibe that I 'm inconveniencing them with my presence. Here 's hoping some new businesses open up in the area and force Fleur du Jour to get with the times and improve their service. You 've got the food down. Now train your staff to treat customers like you yourself would like to be treated.
The croissant was excellent; very fresh and tasty. The coffee was good. There is a bit of seating inside. My only issue is that the coffees aren't priced right. How is a cortado and a macchiato the same price as a cappuccino. $5 is much above market price for these drinks with significantly less milk.
Fleur du Jour is my #1 favourite bakery in Toronto! The down side is that they make such great pastries that they almost always sell out super quickly. Their croissants are buttery, flakey, and super light. The kouign amman and apple tart are my favourite here!
