Chinese Food Gallery - Toronto

I used to frequently order from this restaurant because they were careful to prevent any cross-contamination with my food allergies (peanuts and seafood). However, I no longer trust them because they no longer take the necessary precautions to ensure my safety. Despite being a loyal customer, they have stopped going the extra mile to accommodate my allergies.

We visited St. James Pub for a beer and then ordered delivery from the Chinese Food Gallery. We enjoyed Shanghai noodles, chop suey, chicken balls, black pepper beef, and fried wontons. The portion sizes were generous, the food was piping hot, and the oil tasted fresh. We were impressed with the speed of preparation and the quality of the food. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal.

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. I ordered the hunch teriyaki, but it smelled terrible and tasted even worse. When I called to complain, they insisted that they have been in business for 20 years and no one else has ever had a problem with the dish. The customer service was very poor.

Which is for a diamond in rough. always faster service, but this place is always known and becomes more and more busy. get their orders early .. only pick up.

Don't be fooled by appearances, the food is very good and prices reasonable. The Tai Dop Woy was excellent. I had the seafood in which the scallops were perfect as was the fish. There was a nice mix of vegetables, perfectly cooked, which is far...superior to the green pepper/celery/carrot chunk mixes so common elsewhere. Tried the Crispy Beef mentioned in another review and it was tasty. The fried rice portion was huge. Dark brown looking so I expected it to be salty with too much soy but it was perfect. not salty at all. I forgot to ask for no MSG but had no ill effects afterwards so if they use MSG at all they have a light unnoticeable hand with it. My takeout was very good both the gooey guilty Crispy Beef and the very healthy tasting veggies so I look forward to my next takeout from Chinese Food Gallery
