The bronze horse is a beautiful statue from where you look at it and ... I assure you ... along the road roma from square castle to happy square carlo do not stop looking at it! the statue is dedicated to filiberto emanuele called 'the iron head': thanks to the colorful tree (Christmas 2018) stands out well visible especially in black and white photographs. in color the photo remains confused. the great leader introduced the Italian ooo and brought the capital from room to torino, great wine drinker died of hepatic cirrhosis at the age of 52 just. news that seem strange today that capitals no longer change and language?
Is located in the center of the square and portrays emanuele filiberto with the sword after the glorious victory obtained in the battle of Saint Quintinus, to which the bas-reliefs below allud. the statue rests on a pedestal in red granite of baveno, with bronze sculptures adorning the base and the upper part; on each side there is the coat of arms with the ducal crown. if the statue was launched by the marochetti a parigi, the base was instead cured in torino, by the bonsignore. the two bas-reliefs that adorn it depict two acts of the Italian wars to which the chief duke of iron participated: that west describes the battle of Saint Quintinus, which in the east the peace of Cateau-Cambrésis. the monument was fused in Paris and exhibited for two months in the courtyard of the museum of the louvre, then transported torino and inaugurated here on 4 November 1838. on 21 and 22 September 1864 the monument was in the center of the torino massacre and still today at the base of the monument, especially on the side that addresses the new door torino station, you can see the holes of the bullets that were hit against the unarmed protesters. during the Second World War the monument was dismantled and brought to santena, in the park of the castle of the caulius. in November 1979 the monument was removed and transferred to the laboratory of a marble in the long golden age for a complete cleansing of sandblasting. Horse and knight returned to the pedestal in St. Carlo Square in June 1980.
The monument in Piazza san carlo I wanted to see this monument with my girlfriend on the occasion of a weekend in Turin. the statue is located in the center of the central square san carlo and represents the most representative character of the Sabauda dynasty. the Duke is depicted as he puts the sword after a victory in battle. if passed from Piazza san carlo you can not notice this work of art.
In the monument, similar to another present in torino. the statue is in a good state of conservation. the statue is located in the center of the pizza to dominate the scene, as if it came from the main avenue. one of the many monuments that depict the ancient Italian rulers. the statue shows a man higher than the ruler was.
