Bidra med feedbackAfter a quick spin around the Monday market, we were disappointed that out regular lunch stop, the excellent Le Bistrot, was shut. Nil desperandum; enter Auberge de l’Alpado. Super friendly lovely folk, made to feel very welcome. Look past the slightly shabby decor and concentrate...on the food this is the real deal. Proper local French cooking. Whatever is the plat de jour, have that. Superb. Next time we’re in town, we won’t know which way to turn! Recommended.
We had a great lunch, lovely relaxed atmosphere and very good service The set meal was very good value and freshly cooked with the best chips ever Highly recommended and we will be back there soon
Lovely people made very welcome, sat next to the fire where they cooked our steaks, even though it was extremely hot outside the room was a comfortable temperature. Difenitly go again, shame not more people eating at the restaurant.
The set menu is great value for a three course meal. The steak is cooked before you on an open fire and is delicious!
We ate here yesterday, at on a cold Sunday evening. We were welcomed by the lady who then served us throughout the night. The restaurant is very traditional French, with a large roaring open fire in the dininga rea which was lovely! Service...was spot on. Very attentive and efficient. Drinks selection was good. We went for the Menu. The starters were great all round. Three of us went for steak for starters. To our surprise they were cooked on a grill on the open fire! In front of us! Which was great! The steak was fantastic. All three of us had medium. It was succulent and full of great taste. Desserts were also nice. As our house is just mins away, we will definitely be returning on our next visit. Thank you! Merci!
