Bidra med feedbackWe used to be regulars at this place 8 years ago and decided to come back to it. Overall we left disappointed with the experience. The age and experience of the waitstaff has dropped about 20 years, you forgot one of our entrees, you ran out of bug, you ran out of the wine we were drinking, you ran out of dessert. To top it off we were subjected to repeated cigarette smoke from the group of males who went outside to smoke every 30 minutes and stood directly out the front of the restaurant. Not a great experience and I think I'll be spending my money elsewhere next time.
My lady friend and I dined here this evening as a special treat, as we'd always passed thinking it would be fun to try, but were always somewhat deterred by the price. The evening started alright, as they were able to accommodate us without a booking. We ordered our food, and began exchanging convivialities. We ordered the garlic bread to share. My esteemed colleague ordered the vegetarian gnocchi. I intended to order the lamb shoulder rigatoni. We both ordered a glass of wine. The wine was pleasant, and the service made sure to offer us a taste before going ahead, as they should. We then received our garlic bread. This is where things began to decline. While it wasn't bad, it did leave me wondering why I didn't just buy the same at the now defunct Woolies that existed across the road. The pasta eventually arrived. This is where it falls apart. I received the chicken rigatoni. I hadn't realised there were multiple rigatoni options on the menu, nor was I asked to clarify. Not wanting to cause to much of a fuss, I went along thinking I'd give it a chance anyway. My good friend meanwhile received 7 (seven) pieces of black and burnt gnocchi in a bath of cream. Nevertheless, we persisted. I continued with my meal which tasted alright, although somewhat too salty. And then I found the plastic. I took a mouthful, started chewing, and felt something hard. I pulled the object out of my mouth and looked at it realising it was a piece of jagged plastic. I put it to the side of my plate and kept eating as I was still hungry, although perturbed by finding the plastic. My friend made quick work of her 7 (seven) pieces of gnocchi. Eventually we got the attention of the waitstaff to take our plates. I took this opportunity to point out the shiny plastic elephant in the room. At first he was bamboozled, and then he took made a brief apology. That was the last we heard of it. I must admit I'm dismayed this wasn't followed up, but I did take pity on the boy. He seemed young, probably doesn't get penalty rates, and probably wasn't sure how to react. I had hoped he would consult someone more senior who would realise what an issue this was.We promptly finished our wine, picked up the exorbitant and not at all worth it bill, and went elsewhere for a low key dessert. Overall, this is the Gold Coast encapsulated in the Brisbane Inner West. Gaudy style over plasticky substance. At a price that's simply not worth it for what you get. Go elsewhere unless you're easily distracted by shiny objects.

Had a good evening here, food was good & wine choice very good. Service was friendly and welcoming, would recommend if you are looking for a good Italian in the area.
I dined at Mariosarti as a solo diner on business and it was a very satisfying experience. The staff was friendly and the food was overall excellent. The menu is simple and easy to interpret. Entrée of tomato bruschetta was excellent. The ciabatta bread was thick, warm, and crispy, and the generous amount of tomato blended nicely with the herbs. For main I chose the 300g eye fillet. The steak was cooked slightly beyond my preference of rare but nonetheless it was tender and very flavorful. The dish was generously accompanied by a trio of large cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, truffled potato and a roasted bone marrow with sauce that can be used for the steak (not something you see in most restaurants). It still amazes me that how so many restaurants charge a premium for a steak with minimal accompaniments. The side of potato mash was rather underwhelming. I found it to be dry and bland. Luckily I was able to add some good flavors to it from the jus, bone marrow, and mushrooms left from the steak. I can happily recommend this place. Bear in mind it’s likely the most expensive restaurant on the Toowong strip, but the prices are also reasonable for the quality and I actually believe it’s good value for your money.
