Tonkatsu Maisen Shibuya Hikarie - Tokyo

What a super menu. The staff was wonderful. The food was incredible. The yuzu liquor was delicious.

If but a little hard to find, holy moley. Katsudon is a comfort food, designed to filling, tasty and affordable. The chefs at Maisen escalate tonkatsu to the level of the gourmet. I waited 30 minutes for a seat and would happily do it again. What can I say but that it's perfect?

One of the best fried pork fillet I have ever tasted! Its Kagoshima port is the most famous dish though they also served wide range pork. I tried Kagoshima fillet while my friend tried shirloin, fillet comes in a softer texture but I like shirloin more.

Good location just a few steps away from the Shibuya scramble. The place is small and pleasant, service is good. The tonkatsu is just ok though. Don 't fall for the black porc special that is just more expensive than the regular porc but not tastier or more tender. A bit overpriced.
