Driven by a desire to test the local cuisine on our trip home we stopped in at Tokoroa and were drawn to this fish and chip shop. Unfortunately we were not impressed with our experience, the shop front was poorly kept, the back of the resteraunt looked like it needed a clean, and none of the staff looked like they wanted to be there. While the fish I ordered tasted good, it wasn't what I had wanted, as the menu hadn't been updated and I initially ordered something that was out of stock. The burger we ordered had no green in it, and it was completely unappealing in look and taste. The chips were a rather small scoop, and seemed overcooked. Over all, not sure we can return, even if the one positive was that I liked my fish that I ended up eating.

This has to be by far the worst place for rawfish, would hate to know what the takeaways food is like. Definitely wouldn’t visit here again nor recommend it to anyone I’d rather starve

Absolutely shocking!! If your a big family wanting $10 chips you have to ask for $30 because $10 is like 2 scoops! What is up with the shops in tokoroa these days!!!
