Bidra med feedbackMeal cost £220 for 2, I do not generally complain because I don't like to make a scene and the waiting staff are not paid enough to put up with nonsense, that is what reviews are for. We were placed at a table basically in the front door when a table that was far more appealing was available all evening in the window, we were given a TEASPOON to consume our veloute. We ordered a nice pinot noir, we were not informed that this was not available and not given a choice for another, we were TOLD that our wine had been swapped because they didn't have the one we asked for and not asked if that was ok, just poured. The food was far from fine dining, the veloute tasted of nothing, the salad was a simple salad. The risotto was pleasant, fish course not well thought out, beans were bizarre. The main course chicken not seasoned at all, and then the worst of all the Venisson, over cooked, taste and texture of offal, the celeriac puree tasted of off apple sauce and the blackberry jus basically was Bovril and berry. My husband's chocolate dessert was served still frozen. In all not a great experience the restaurant itself was not comfortable, too many hard surfaces reverberating the sound of people's voices, terrible cover music being played, no coverings on the windows which were very steamy. This restaurant has marketing of being a fine dining experience but lacks any finesse in service and food.
Quite simply exceptional food. Excellent value for money. Worth getting the wine flight. The staff were friendly and very informative Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £70–80
We so enjoyed all 8 courses on the August menu, delicious flavours and fabulous combinations of foods. The restaurant is welcoming, relaxed and I cannot praise the service highly enough. This was my first visit, it won't be my last.
Always had a pleasant experience in white hard todmorden. personal always pleasant, eating not too bad pizzas are really good. only a disappointing visit before a week when I ordered an obstsalat....it came....1 bananen on the teller, (unpeeled,) 8 blueberries! the personal has returned it. If you want a complete cooked breakfast, I can recommend it hard at white as hubby really likes it! the prizes are also great. I would recommend it if you never did.
Typical wetherspoons pub, beautiful building with period features such as Victorian kamine, gipsforms, many dark wood and leaf plants. good choice of beer and other drinks with a fast friendly service. my only critique is the smelling toilets in the ground floor, a pronounced uring smell when they close, probably due to the old carpets, they are worn and stained and must replace in any case. my advice is the hike to the 3rd etage, much cleaner and less smelling.
