Chembian Restaurant - Tiruchirapalli

We had lunch here.The ambience was good.The service was very good.The selection of food was good. A good choice of local food.

Went with friends for breakfast here on 22 Jan 17. Excellent atmosphere. Upon entering the hotel, you are treated very warmly and given good directions as to the facilities present. We were here to get a taste of something good in Trichy, after getting bored of hostel food, and we weren't disappointed.There was a custom Dosa Section, where they made dosa per your liking and delivered to the table. Similarly for the Egg Station, where you could order different kinds of Omelettes.You can divide the buffet into 4 sections - South Indian, North Indian, Western, Pastries.South Indian Fare included Idli, Chutney (Coconut, Tomato, Mint), Sambhar, Bisibelabath, Upma, Pongal, Vada (Medhu, Masala). Piping hot and delicious, as you would expect in a South Indian Specialty Restaurant.North Indian included Paratha, Chana Masala, Bean Curry. Paratha was smooth and not very rubbery. The Curries had a good flavour with the right spices.Western Options included Toast, French Toast, Sauteed Vegetables (Carrot, Cauliflower etc), Chicken Sausage, Chicken Liver, Baked Potato, Lettuce, Salads, Jam, Mayonnaise, Croissant, Finger Sandwiches. This was our favorite section since Western fare is hard to come by in Trichy, especially in hostel, and this is the closest you could get. Nevertheless it was very well done and executed as we had expected. Only the Sandwiches left a lot to be desired as they were crumbly and dry.The Pastry section included Donuts, Danish Pastry, Cupcakes etc. This was a bit of a letdown since the cakes were a bit dry. But nevertheless good enough to pass.There was also a variety of fruit cuts including Papaya, Grapes, Orange etc which had that right level of cooling to make it enjoyable. Not to forget the range of cereals - Chocopops, Oats, Cornflakes which we didn't try, so no word on those.There were a variety of Milkshakes - Strawberry (Which is the only one I tried, as I kept going back and took only this and so much so that I forgot to check the other ones out).Finally you could also get a cup of proper coffee. But by then I was so full after the milkshakes that I did not try it.All in all, a really good breakfast in Trichy for ~400 Rupees. You should definitely try this one out when in Trichy.

Dined at this restaurant last night and its a big let down. We arrived at this restaurant and it was busy we did understand however later when there was hardly any guests still the service was far below par the staffs does not seem to understand or interested to deliver a proper attentive service 1. We have to search for waiting staffs to get the menu , place the order , to clear the plates each and everything where you would expect the things to be done automatically when categorised as so called 3 star 2. We asked for starter which came together for main course3.We asked our tables to cleared before having desserts and our curry bowls were still left4. The wait staffs have an hierarchy I beleive such as only trainee staffs will clear tables and other ones just being bossy and occupying side stations to do billings I guess which put our whole expereince down and just to remind this suppose to be our romantic valentine down5.However the only good part is the food thumbs up to the chefs the service team really needs to step up6. Did I told you that I went to cascade coz this restaurant was busy which is their coffee shop we waited 15 mins if anyone can get our table cleared which did not happen and we went to chembian Such an unpleasant evening

Had one of the best sea food here. The sea food soup was delicious & the grilled fish was awesome. The Briyani was ok as meat was chewy. Walls are full Chola style paintings which gives feeling of being in deep south. Service is prompt & restaurant is clean & hygienic.

As I was booked in sangam hotel , decided to visit their restaurant like hotel, restaurant too looked pretty old. Opted buffet for lunch there were large number of varieties especially deserts. But the one that surprised me is the taste which I think is one of the best. Service was pretty good too. Overall happy experience.
