Bidra med feedbackWe had a plan to go to the Jersey Shore Premium outlets, but we knew we would be at a time that would disturb the dinner, so I turned on the Internet to find an interesting restaurant in the area. A little look at the urban spoon brought me to Kanji, who looked interesting and tasty. We had never brought our boys to sushi because we thought they wouldn't eat it and what else would it be on the menu? I finally got smart and called... I was told we could order Hibachi on a sushi table! (It makes sense, but my husband always said you couldn't. As soon as we went to the door, the hostess remembered my call and was really nice to my boys. I don't know if she overheard our conversation asking our server if he was training for my 4-year-old Chiffel, but she brought us directly. (As a coincidence it wasn't until he finished eating that he asked
TLDR: Good food, great atmosphere. We ordered sushi and hibachi, both were very good! The sweet potato roll in particular was very good. The smoked salmon roll was alright, nothing to brag about though (probably won't be ordering again). The spring rolls were excellent! The hibachi vegetable was good. It wasn't too salty which was nice, and the noodles and rice were both cooked well. The cucumber roll was good, nothing special though. The place was very clean, but smelled slightly like chlorine—almost like we were at an indoor pool or something. The atmosphere was very good; nice dim lighting and soft music made the experience enjoyable. Overall, great Japanese place in the Shrewsbury area. I'd recommend coming here for dinner.
The best sushi place i actually think i’ve ever tried. I’ve been to many sushi places and the freshness of their food is so good! The fish just tastes so amazing because of its simplicity. Everything here is so good because they make it taste so fresh and homemade. The hibachi is also so great too. There’s not too much of a salty taste or a greasy taste, it just tastes so fresh. I recommend this place to anyone in or out of the area. I would drive 2 hours for a place like this
The good: prompt, friendly service. Delicious food! The warning: if you don't like avocado, your special sushi roll options are limited. we ended up here after a movie because it was close and the reviews were great. We ordered a few different options, and our food came out quickly, and the prices were about the same as many other places, but the portions were quite large, which was a plus! I noticed that there were very few Special Rolls that didn't have avocado, so we tried the few that didn't have it. That did make ordering a bit easier, but it was a bit of a bummer. Overall though, I would definitely go here again next time I'm at Monmouth Mall!
Enjoyed the food, sushi is amazing, tastes very fresh. We actually enjoyed it more than the Hibachi. Definitely fresh seafood. Atmosphere is very intimate and the service is attentive. No Alcohol is served here so it may be a BYOB, didn't think to ask. You may want to call and find our. Standard mask requirements are kept due to the pandemic.
