Restaurant Mercy - Timişoara

A good restaurant located in the pedestrian area. I was pleased with the quality of service and food

Everything from the proseco, risotto, dorada and salad was excellent, wrapped in very pleasant live music/voice. The service was great. Definitely a place to indulge, when in Timisoara.

Located în the Piata Unirii the restaurant ofer a very sophisticate italian kitchen. The food is well cooked offering to the guest the real taste of italian kitchen. It has also a oenoteca with a lărgește selecționer of wines.

The linguine al scoglio were Tasty, but the pasta was unfortunately not al dente and the seafood was a bit overcooked.The canolo Siciliano however was perfect. Small wine selection. Friendly yet a bit pushy staff.Bearing in mind the high prices higher standards are expected - not yet met.Pretty kitsch furnishing.There are better Italian restaurants in town.

This was our one disappointing meal in Timisoara. The restaurant looks nice from outside and the menu looked interesting. However when we went in we started by looking at the wine menu where each bottle was described without any mention of the grape used. We asked the waiter for help but found he had not one word of English, the only place in Timisoara where we found this. The owner who did speak English came to help us and steered us towards an expensive bottle of wine which we declined and just went for an unknown one at a more reasonable price. By this time we had been in the restaurant for 30 minutes and our order for food had not been taken. We ordered the duck and after a further 30 minutes there was an apology that the food was longer than normal as they had a lot of customers. We were given some nice bread to keep us going. When the food did arrive we wished we had not waited. We have never had such tough tasteless duck. The potatoes were undercooked and despite our hunger we just could not face eating it. The owner offered to cook another meal but by this time we had had enough. We were not charged for the meal but we did have a spoilt evening. It is interesting that of the 5 reviews on this site, 2 are by people who have just started posting reviews, maybe their lack of restaurant experience means they are easily satisfied. Certainly In Italy and in Italian restaurants around the world I have not had such a poor meal nor experienced such poor customer service.
